NextGen Electrical was founded by Brad Maidment to build an electrical company centred on customer satisfaction from start to finish. That means more than doing the electrical work. It means helping customers understand what is happening, keeping them informed and making sure they feel looked after throughout the process.
NextGen Electrical is a locally owned electrical contractor serving St. John’s, surrounding communities, and other parts of the Avalon Peninsula depending on the job. We provide full-service residential and commercial electrical work, including service calls, troubleshooting, renovations, new construction, EV chargers, service upgrades, lighting, generator panels, and maintenance.

Meet Brad Maidment
Brad Maidment is the owner, founder and an electrician with NextGen Electrical. He has approximately 18 years of experience across residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work. His background also includes project management and industrial safety experience, including work as a Lockout/Tagout Authority. Brad started NextGen to create a company that combines strong technical work with a better customer experience.
What We Offer
NextGen’s core team brings approximately 40 years of combined electrical experience. Work is completed by qualified Red Seal journeyperson electricians, with a shared commitment to safety, quality, and clear customer communication.
How NextGen works
The process varies by project, but the goal is always to make the electrical work as straightforward as possible for the customer. NextGen reviews the site and requirements, provides an estimate where the scope can be confirmed, completes the installation, handles electrical permits and inspections when required, and keeps the customer informed through completion.
